Parts of that had me knots. Her love for her sister was just so palatable, so real. The beauty of the wedding matched with the horror of the slaughter was both wonderful and horrible.

I was confused by the ending, was the soldier saying 'come get some' or did he feel ashamed for what he was doing (butchering a wedding)? Was he setting a trap for soldiers that would arrive or was he setting his own people to be butchered. So many questions.

Wow, what a ride through a spectrum of feelings, all in under 1000 words! You have such a great gift for storytelling. I love the vivid imagery in this piece and the bigger story it hints at. And the Breaker. I have so many questions too!
