This is my first year participating, and I really enjoyed diving into this one. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts!
I backed away as smoke pooled around his face and under his hood. He reached up to catch the tendrils, to shape them, and in the process remake his features.
For that's what his kind did, and had done, for centuries...

I enjoyed reading this. You got the emotions of the character and intensity of the chase across really well and left the story in a place where the reader wants to know more.
